why wrap your womb?

your womb is a vital energy centre. it is a gateway to your inner consciousness, your intuition and your capacity to give & receive pleasure. when there is imbalance or depletion in the womb, we will find this is mirrored in our general health, where we experience fatigue, mood swings, water retention, digestive issues, discomfort & tenderness.

tending to your womb through the gentle practice of womb wrapping has the potential to open new pathways to optimise your womb health & your general wellbeing too.

a path towards womb healing

our wombs are held within the sacral chakra, this is a sacred area where we hold our emotional memories, intuition, stories, experiences, self expression & felt traumas in this tender place.

when we supress emotions, are not open about our life experiences or unable to take ownership of our own stories, this can manifest as an imbalance or illness within the sacral space.

stagnation & imbalance in the womb can block the path to fully integrated wellness.

making space to nurture an honest connection with your womb, to listen & also respond, can begin to restore balance and help you to feel energized, compassionate ~ for yourself & others, and bring about emotional stability.

womb wrapping offers a very easy & accessible way to nurture this connection, that, in time, can become a daily practice of deep & resounding self care that creates healing.

benefits of womb wrapping?

a warm womb is a happy womb!

wrapping your womb brings warmth directly to the area & this improves the circulation & blood flow within the womb & the pelvic area as a whole.

many indigenous cultures around the world use cloths & belts to tie around the womb for physical as well as emotional support, with the innate understanding of the importance to keep the womb & the kidneys warm for general, overall health. these cloths have significant weavings, patterns & colours and are integral to daily life.

in celtic & nordic traditions we see examples of kidney belts, often made from leather, to protect this vital area too.

after childbirth wrapping the womb helps the stretched ligaments & muscles of the uterus as they return to their place of centre, to heal and strengthen optimally. during pregnancy you may find the gentle support of the belt relieves discomfort & tension in the lower belly & back.

as a womb connection practice, wrapping can bring emotional clarity & stability through the menstrual cycle & during and after the menopause transition.

here are just some of the benefits of womb wrapping to give support for:

  • pelvic pain & discomfort

  • lower back tension & pain

  • pubis symphysis disorder

  • pelvic girdle pain

  • sciatica

  • adrenal fatigue

  • hormonal balance

  • stress and anxiety

  • menstrual discomfort

  • womb misalignment

  • endometriosis

  • postpartum healing

  • pregnancy fatigue

how to wrap your womb

i offer various womb belts to buy through my self care shop.

these 100% cotton, double layer wraps are breathable, adjustable & really simple to wear, plus they look beautiful too!

you may be interested to learn self binding techniques, such as bengkung or jamu wrapping, i offer belly binding sessions where i guide you to bind yourself. belly binding can be enjoyed as part of your postpartum healing, but i enjoy binding at different stages of my menstrual cycle, when i feel the need for extra support.

binding doesn’t need to be complicated or take a lot of practice, if you already have a long scarf made from natural fibres, such as cotton or linen, then you can use this to simply wrap & cover your lower belly & pelvis - that’s really all there is to it!

if you have any questions, or would like to learn more about my belly binding sessions, please feel free to drop me an email below, i always love to chat about wrapping!
