about me

i’m emma and i started nama mama in 2018, after experiencing the power of hypnobirthing through the births of my own two children. i felt so passionate to pass this knowledge forward & so it began!

i am a huge advocate for nature, living seasonally, growing & foraging and this has lead me through a life’s journey of learning about herbs, self care & wellbeing.

i am a mother of 2 beautiful children who have taught me more in 10 years than i have known in my entire lifetime!

how i can work with you

i incorporate my knowledge & passion for herbal remedies & alternative therapies with my antenatal education & hypnobirthing expertise, to offer a unique birth mentoring package, to prepare confidently for your birth & postpartum.

through mizan therapy & traditional wellness practices, i provide individual support through journeys of menstrual dysregulation, womb healing, fertility issues & the challenges of menopause.

i can help you to rediscover the connection to yourself & the deep inner knowing of your needs as i walk with you on your journey to a place of wellbeing.

my journey & my passions…

my journey to creating nama mama

after the birth of my first child in 2014, i connected with a local friend katherine, now a wonderful postnatal doula, & we began guiding sling walks for parents who shared a passion for carrying their babies.

in 2017 i was nominated for a scholarship on the slingababy consultancy course, & when my daughter was just 4 months old i travelled to london with her (crazy!) to take part in the training that was to open my heart to supporting parents in a professional way.

i invested to train with the hypnobirthing institute in 2018, achieving my diploma in hypnobirthing. i have had the privilege to work with many beautiful people in preparation for their birth in my local community & beyond.

i am in awe at the human capacity to regenerate! the lineages we all hold & the traditions that we have sadly, mostly lost in our society.

i have & continue to undertake professional training to enhance all of my offerings. my highlights being time spent with dr. rocio alarcon, nicola goodall, molly o’brien, anna la grange & bushra finch & many more. these amazing women have broadened my perspective on birth, mothering, bleeding, ageing and defying the conventions that go along with them all!

nama mama has evolved with so many influences and inspiring mentors, please take a look at my community area with links to local professionals i enjoy working & collaborating with.

reconnecting to lost rituals of self care

throughout many global cultures there has been a passing down of knowledge, ritual & practice surrounding the life event of pregnancy, birth & motherhood. i feel we have sadly lost this intrinsic part of our western heritage, & with it, so much knowledge of the herbs & plants we would have used to support ourselves during this time of life.

i look to integrate elements of alternative self care practices & remedies uses within all nama mama antenatal sessions to pass this knowledge forward.

my shop contains all of my small batch handmade products, including sitz bath blends, bath teas, oat milk baths, yoni steam blends & aromatherapy rollers.

ceremony & connection

i love deepening my knowledge of cultural traditions of birth and postpartum care, i think that is my life’s work!

thanks to the teachings of ethno-botanist and healer, rocio alarcon, i feel real privilege to have her guidance in understanding the beautiful closing the bones healing ceremony, and to be able offer this beautiful celebration to you.

with my second pregnancy my little tribe helped me celebrate and prepare by holding a mother blessing for me. it was the most beautiful day where we shared food stories, craft & a lot of love.

i was so happy to expand my understanding of this beautiful ceremony with the teaching of emma ashworth, a doula & birth activist & will be offering mother blessing ceremonies in the new year.

i offer belly binding teachings & yoni steaming sessions in your own home, both are beautiful self care practices, the knowledge of which is embedded within our genes ~ it is simply a case of remembering…
