postpartum restoration
restorative care to nourish, replenish and support your healing after birth
your postpartum is a golden opportunity for your health & wellbeing
the weeks and months following birth are a time of profound change. as you care for your baby, it can be easy to overlook the physical, emotional and energetic shifts taking place within your own body.
having support to prioritise your physical and emotional wellbeing, particularly in the golden month after birth, can help you feel held, nourished and supported as you heal, regain balance, and settle into life with your baby.
postpartum restoration sessions offer you a dedicated space, through your fourth trimester and beyond, to slow down, receive support and specialist bodywork to help you reconnect with yourself during this important transition.
birth opens the doorway into motherhood
in the weeks and months after birth, your body continues to heal, adapt and find its new rhythm. during this time, warmth, rest and nurturing touch can play an important role in supporting recovery.
traditional postpartum practices recognise the value of warming therapies, restorative bodywork and compassionate care after birth. each postpartum restoration session offers an opportunity to ease tension, soothe tired muscles, encourage circulation and hormonal balance, whilst holding space for rest and integration.
as you hold your baby through this transition, my sessions offer a space where you, too, can be held.
“i wasn’t expecting to feel so much lighter and grounded afterwards. i felt supported and nurtured… it was a lovely, sensory experience.”
postpartum restoration sessions
my practice is rooted in traditional mizan therapy and abdominal massage, supporting the body through gentle womb-centred care after birth. together with somatic womb therapy, this approach honours the connection between the womb, nervous system and emotional wellbeing, helping to restore balance physically, emotionally and energetically.

postpartum massage can usually be received as soon as you feel ready after birth & that feels different for everyone. this may be in the early weeks or later in your postpartum journey.
if you have had a caesarean birth or any complications, it’s best to ensure you are healing well and feel comfortable receiving bodywork, general advice is to wait 6-8 weeks after caesarean birth.

during your treatment you will be covered with sheets and blankets at all times to ensure you feel warm, comfortable, and secure throughout the massage.
please dress to your own comfort, for the greatest benefit, it is ideal to remove trousers and remain in your underwear, as this allows easier access to the lower back, hips, and legs. you are very welcome to wear loose fitting trousers or shorts if you prefer, which can be adjusted or lowered as needed.
for your upper body, you may choose to remove clothing or keep on a loose, comfortable top, whatever helps you feel most relaxed and at ease.
in cooler months i encourage warm socks to keep the feet cosy and support a sense of warmth and grounding throughout the treatment.
-
babies are very welcome, especially in the early postpartum period and for breastfeeding parents, you are welcome to feed and respond to your baby’s needs during your time with me.
this work is most deeply supportive when you are able to fully rest and receive uninterrupted bodywork, so, where possible, it is recommended to come with a supportive person so your baby can be cared for nearby during the session.
the venue at Buckland Park Lake allows up to 3 hours of parking, and accompanying carers are welcome to enjoy the grounds and café during this time.

postpartum sessions may be available as home visits depending on location and availability.
